Hello Friends! The last two months have been a whirlwind of writing projects, house projects, and motherhood. But I’m back and I’m excited to start posting again.
Last night, I finally finished my autumn novelette, “Read & Buried: A Cozy Book Club Mystery,” and will be submitting it to an editor this week! It’s been a tedious journey, but I am thrilled at the result, and I hope you will be too.
The Synopsis:
After moving from Miami with her husband and two kids to open a pumpkin patch in the middle-of-nowhere Midwest, thirty-something Marie Lynell is desperate to help her “tweenage” daughter Violet make friends. But when Marie finally forces herself out of her comfort zone and starts a Murder Mystery Book Club with moms from school, she has no idea that she’s about to be sucked into an eerie mystery of her own.

In the beginning phase of my cover design, I love playing around with colors and textures to see what works and what falls flat.
Right now I’m loving the juxtaposition of the warm pumpkin patch with the cool simplicity of the asylum, but I’m planning to soften the sky and make th stack of books more prominent!
