Pickles and Pebbles

I went on a walk with my son this morning and was reminded what a nut I am for fall. It was 68 degrees and it smelled like rain. We listened to “coffee shop” jazz while enjoying all the September vibes.

I love our neighborhood. I love the old houses and how carefully each homeowner tends to their yard. From meticulous gardens to painted tractor tires, our neighborhood aesthetic is definitely unique.

Our neighborhood is most beautiful in October. On fall evenings, it feels as enchanting as a Norman Rockwell painting. Children play in their yards until the streetlights come on, colorful leaves cover the sidewalks, and the anticipation for a night of trick-or-treating hangs in the air as little old ladies deck out their yards with Snoopies.

I always get “nostalgic” for fall the day after 4th of July—ask my husband. 😉 I’m ready to decorate, but Josh IS NOT, haha. Working on my new book, “Pickles and Pebbles’ Halloween Adeventure” has been a delightful outlet for this summer’s fall obsession.

I love spending my son’s afternoon nap drawing pumpkins and dreaming of cooler weather. Here are a few of my favorite illustrations so far:
